Frequently asked questions

What can I expect during my first session?

The first session is nothing to worry about or be intimidated by. I completely understand that many new clients have not worked out in a while…if at all. The first session is composed of a variety of simple, very manageable exercises in order for me to assess muscle usage, and where you tend to compensate due to muscle imbalances and postural misalignment. At the end of the session, you will receive any additional paperwork or information that you need to complete.  If you decide that for whatever reason Champagne Fitness is not a good fit for you, the first session is on the house.

How are the sessions scheduled?

Some people have pretty regular daily work routines and prefer to be locked into recurring weekly slots whereas others have much more sporadic weeks that are constantly changing.  Most of my clients are the latter and at the end of each week, we will set up the following weeks sessions on a “play it by ear” basis. type of scheduling.  Unless you need a specific time slot, it usually works best to simply text me to see what slots are open in the upcoming days.  I am very flexible with scheduling and understand that sessions may need to be moved around even on the day of the session.

What is your cancellation policy for individual sessions? What if I am late?

My cancellation policy is based on 24-hour notice. However, I understand that unforeseeable emergencies do happen. I am realistic and fair when it comes to enforcing the policy. I ask that you please text me as soon as possible if a conflict occurs or if you are running late.

If I want to sign up for the largest package but can’t afford it right now, is there a payment plan?

No. I can understand the hesitation to invest such a large sum of money, however, my refund policy is very fair in that you will be fully refunded for your unused sessions if at any point you decide to terminate your training. The sessions completed will be charged at the corresponding package rate and the rest will be returned immediately.  I also don’t require payment until the third session, as I understand that some people need to experience a few sessions before they commit. Please see my “refund policy” for more details.

Do my sessions expire?  How long do I have to use up my package?

I don’t agree with trainers that require you to use up your sessions in a given period of time.  This is your money, your sessions and you should be able to workout as you wish.  If you sign up for the 40 session package and on your 18th session you leave for vacation for 2 months, you will return and be on your 19th session.  Some clients take over a year to use up an 80 session package.

How many days a week should I work out?

Everyone is different when it comes to how many days per week they should or prefer to workout.  Some clients who are just starting or maybe just getting back into their workouts will see me once or twice a week and gradually build up to more frequency and intensity whereas other more advanced clients will come in every other day.  It also depends on what you are doing outside of our training.  Many of my clients have health club memberships in the area where they like to go and do their own workouts, especially cardio, since I won’t have clients doing their machine based cardio with me during the sessions.  If you are thinking of joining a local gym for your extra training outside of these sessions, I will help you choose one that best fits your needs.

I want to sign up for the group session, but my training partner only wants to train 2 days/week and I want to train 3 days/week. Can we work something out?

Yes, you are still able to workout with a partner even if they only join you on the occasional workout.  If you signed up for the “group” rates but your partner only joins you one day a week, your solo sessions will be charged as a private session.  If your partner cancels within the 24 hour window and you still show up, you will not be charged for a private as they will be charged for their missed session.

I want to sign up for the largest package, but my partner can’t afford that right now. Can we still workout together?

Yes, If you decide you want to reduce the price per session and sign up for the 80 session package but your partner can’t afford that and signs up for the package of 20, you will each be charged at different rates per session.  I will keep track of all the sessions as they are used up to make sure that your package expires appropriately.  I will let you know a few sessions in advance when you are about to expire your current package.

I want to sign up for the partner sessions, but I don’t have a partner to train with. Can you pair me up with someone I don’t know or do I have to find my own?

Finding a partner to workout with is your responsibility. I even prefer if you pick someone to workout with that has a very similar schedule to you in order to avoid cancellations.  Flakey training partners only make it more expensive for you since if they cancel with ample notice, you burden the private session rates if you want to keep the session.  If they cancel within the 24hr period, you will only be charged the group rate.

What if my training partner is way more fit than I am, is that a problem?

You do not need to be the same fitness level as your partner although it is a more functional session if there is not too large of a difference between the two clients. I am easily able to alter the degree of difficulty of each exercise without changing the exercise.  I have many husbands and wives that workout together where one person is a novice and the other has had years of experience in the gym.  If one person Is recovering from a recent injury and needs the session to be at a slower pace and more focused on their individual needs, I do not recommend a group session for that client.

I want to sign up for private sessions, but my spouse/child wants to do a group session with another person. Can we still sign up for a larger package to get the reduced rates?

Yes, you can sign up for the large package and share a “family” payment account. I will charge the account according to the group or private session

I really want to sign up for a long large package but I’ve never even met you or seen the way you work with clients. How can I be sure that I will like your facility and your training?

Before clients choose the length of package they want, I usually suggest that they complete a few sessions before they commit to a package. By the third session, they should have a much better idea if they want to sign up for a small or large package.

What is your refund policy?

With my refund policy, you never have to worry about forfeiting money for sessions that you don’t complete. Let’s say you complete only 45 sessions of your package of 80 due to sickness/injury, family emergency, dissatisfaction, etc. You will only be charged for those 45 sessions, however you will be charged at the 40-session package rate. In other words, you must complete the total length of your package to get the discounted rate of the larger package.

Do you have a referral discount?

Although I don’t have a referral discount I am known to throw a few complimentary sessions on your account to say “thank you” for a great referral.
